David Corderman, Ph.D.

David Corderman has more than 35 years of experience in high visibility leadership, consulting, education and training roles. He is a specialist in improving human capital with an emphasis on individual development, performance, and improving human behavior. Dr. Corderman has extensive experience in assessing leadership performance and understanding where individuals and work groups are in need of improvement. His experience includes both the private and public sectors in the USA and internationally.

Dr. Corderman has extensive experience in a variety of sectors, in both small and large organizations. He has worked with organizations in the energy, communications, retail, technology, defense contracting, medical, non-profit, and governmental sectors. His work includes assessment of personnel and organizational strengths, use of personal assessment and diagnostic instruments, gap analysis between current and desired behavior, leadership performance programs, and job benchmarking.

A frequent consultant to federal, state and local public service agencies, Dr. Corderman, has extensive training experience in the design, presentation, and real-world application of leadership programs and courses for such organizations as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Scottish Police College, Police Service of Northern Ireland, Australian Institute of Police Management, and other organizations.

Dr. Corderman was responsible for oversight of all the FBI’s executive leadership programs for federal, state, local, and international partners at the executive level. He ensured these programs utilized solid adult learning components and best practices. Dr. Corderman was also responsible for developing whole scale systematic change within the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at the FBI Academy. Under his guidance, the FBI expanded their initiatives in the professional development community through integration and collaboration across organizational boundaries. During his tenure as Chief of the FBI’s Leadership Development Institute, he was responsible for the integration of all leadership training for a 30,000 member diverse work force, and led the design of a next generation human capital system.
